After the design strategy workshop, my revisited position statement is as follows:
'concept driven Illustrator with a focus on for high end commercial and creative print.'
My Subjects / themes are:
taxonomy
interaction
music
editorial
Areas of creative development / disciplines I will focus on are:
Print
Composition / image layout
Line weight
Colour
Hand drawing
Vector image finishing
Sub catagories which branch from these themes and areas are:
Taxonomy - collections of things, for example if i triangulate some of the phrases; A vector taxonomy of musical instruments.
Interaction - how a viewer would interact with my illustration - publications, editorial, posters, projection.
Music - illustrate famous musicians, synthology and the history of synths and sequencers.
Editorial - content driven, the guardian, graphic novels and publications
Print - hand printing, screen printing
Composition image layout - an area that will be a focus within publication briefs.
Hand drawing - an important part of developing ideas and concepts
Vector finishing - in some respects this follows on from previous sub catagory, but is also how most of my work turns out, considers line weight, software skills in illustrator and photoshop.
Colour - Colour as a technical excercise : colour separations for print, overlays and reverse out.
